K-Pop singer Psy has reached the No.1 spot on iTunes in 18 different countries, including the United States!

Exactly one month ago, Psy's official 6th album PSY 6, Pt.1 was released, unveiling his title song "Gangnam Style." Today (September 15), "Gangnam Style" made its way all the way up to No. 1 on the Top Songs Chart on iTunes in the United States.

Psy's "Gangnam Style" first made it into top 10 on September 12. Within 3 days, "Gangnam Style" became number 1. Global star Kanye ranks 2nd, Taylor Swift 3rd and Maroon 5 in 4th. It is an incredible sight since over 80% of the content on the iTunes chart is American pop or Euro pop.

In addition, Psy's "Gangnam Style" is also No. 1 in other countries like Canada, Argentina, Czech Republic, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Lithuania, Paraguay, Peru, Slovakia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Psy is currently ranked No.1 in 18 different nations.

It is even more impressive since Psy sings "Gangnam Style" in Korean and there are no other language versions.

Today, Psy updated his personal me2day page stating, "I am ranked in 1st place on the American iTunes Single Chart. All thanks to the Today Show. Let's go Korea!" and expressed his happiness.

Psy is the first ever K-Pop artist who received this much media attention globally, as well as ranking No.1 on multiple music charts. Yesterday (Septemeber 14), Psy's "Gangnam Style" made it into the Billboard Main Chart Hot 100. Psy is currently staying strong in 64th place.

Psy seems to have gotten more famous through his promotional activities in the United States through making appearances on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" as well as NBC's "Today Show".

The music video of Psy's "Gangnam Style" still remains in the number 1 spot with over 176 million times on YouTube. Psy created a whole new record for Korean artists.
