Teen Top and their agency TOP Media is said to have filed a lawsuit against four individuals who are believed to have started rumors alleging that the boy band was involved in chart manipulation (or sajaegi).

Osen, a Korean news portal site, reported that a police representative said that a lawsuit had been filed on October 2 against four individuals allegedly responsible for starting the rumors.

TOP Media also confirmed the lawsuite in a statement to Star News. "We filed a lawsuit against 4 individuals who spread false rumors about album sajaegi when TEEN TOP 20'S LOVE ONE EXITO was released in September for defamation of character," the rep said.

"The police found the people and went into an investigation," he continued. "Among them, there are those in their teens and twenties."

TOP Media says they are unsure of what action to take moving forward. "We held a personal meeting with these individuals and most of them said they were reflecting on their actions and pleaded for mercy," the rep explained. "We are currently deciding on whether to show leniency."

The rumors of chart manipulation are said to have begun when 2PM member Jun. K tweeted an ambiguous message to his followers, that eventually led to a fanwar between the HOTTEST (2PM fans) and ANGELS (Teen Top fans). This happened after Teen Top topped the music charts for their song, "Missing," at the same time 2PM was making their comback.

Amidst all the controversies and problems, Teen Top released a repackaged album Teen Top 20's Love Two Exito to show gratitude to the fans that have stuck with them.
