SISTAR Member Soyou Selected As GQ's Woman Of The Year

Soyou of popular idol quartet, SISTAR, has been named GQ Korea's 'Woman of the Year' for 2014.

The 22-year-old singer was a prominent figure on the Korean music charts this year with chart-topping hits with her group, SISTAR, as well as in her solo endeavors.

If February, Soyou and rapper Junggigo released what was arguably one of the most popular songs of the year, "Some." The duet stayed atop music charts for weeks and set the tone for many other singer-rapper duos to try and recreate its success.

Soyou also particiapated in two soundtrack releases, "Once More" for Empress Ki and "Diamond" off the Snow Queen 2 soundtrack, as well as a digital single with Kwon Sunil and Park Yongin called "The Space Between."

Additionally, her group, SISTAR, has had quite the eventful year when it comes to comebacks. The group released their hit track, "Touch My Body" that dominated the charts and provided the summer just what we needed. Their follow up track, "I Swear," also left quite the impression with the natural toned music video and fresh vibes.

Aside from musical activities, SISTAR's Soyou has been making multiple guest appearing on a various number of shows and programs during the short time including hit Sunday Variety show, 'Running Man'. Soyou guested on Running Man alongside EXO's Kai and Sehun, SHINee's Taemin, as well as famous 90's idols Moon Hee Jun, Eun Ji Won, Danny An, and Chun Myung Hoon.

Soyou proved to not only be one of the sexy icons in the show but also one of the guests with the most competitive spirits.

Of course, where there's 'Woman of the Year' there's 'Man of the Year'. SHINee's Taemin and iKON's Bobby both won the title for GQ's 'Man of the Year' Award. Taemin made a very strong solo debut earlier this year first teasing us with the mellow and sexy track "Ace". The SHINee member then proceeded to unleash his addicting title track, "Danger", which turned heads from all over due to his alluring and slick dance month and trance beats.

Though iKON is still a rookie group with YG Entertainment, Bobby has already some music experience under his belt as well as good looks. Bobby won first place during the third season of 'Show Me The Money' and most recently has been featured in the track for YG's newest unit, HI SUHYUN, for the song "I'm Different".

SISTAR's Soyou had a packed year from promoting with fellow SISTAR members and even participating in multiple collaborations and drama soundtracks. The collaboration Soyou did with Junggigo and Lil Boi, "Some", was so popular that it is currently competing for 'Best Collaboration' for the 2014 MAMA Awards.

Congratulations, Soyou!
