f(x) Rapper Amber Prepares To Make Her Solo Debut

The Taiwanese-American K-Pop star will be the next SM Entertainment artist to launch a solo career.

The members of SM Entertainment K-Pop girl group f(x) have all be venturing out into their own individual careers and the group's resident rapper, Amber Lui, is the next in line. With Victoria, Krystal, Sulli, and Luna all busy with their individual acting careers, LA-born Amber is preparing for her solo debut.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Sports DongA, SM Entertainment plans to release Amber's solo debut in February of next year, although the exact date is yet to be decided upon. A rep for the agency told the press that Amber's next step as a soloist is still in the planning stages.

"It is true that we are discussing plans for Amber's solo album," a rep from SM Entertainment told OSEN on November 29.  "However, no date has been set yet."

Amber will be the first member of f(x) to go solo. She follows after a steady stream of SM Entertainment male idol group members to release solo material including Super Junior-M members Henry and Zhoumi, SHINee's Taemin, and, most recently, Super Junior member Kyuhyun.

While fans wait for Amber's solo debut, they can check her out every Saturday as the host of KBS 2TV's Global Request Show: A Song For You.
