Psy is far exceeding his expectations of success in the US and raising the expectations of fans worldwide and in Korea.

The most recent dream and hope that fans are talking about is #1 on the Billboard singles chart, which would make Psy the second Asian singer ever to achieve this feat, next to 1963 Japanese singer Sakamoto Kyu.

This expectation stems from Psy's meteoric rise to #11 on the Hot 100 Billboard Singles in the most recent version and it looks like the top is incredlby close and within reach. The 'Hot 100' chart calculates single sales, number of times broadcast and others. Despite the fact that "Gangnam Style" has not been released as a single album, it is being downloaded with incredible popularity. Psy is currently holding the #1 spot on iTunes's Top Songs list. People believe that within a week or two, #1 on the 'Hot 100' could be plausible as well.

The second big hope is that if Psy is able to get to the top of the Billboard charts, he could be chosen as a nominee for the New Artist category in the 55th Grammy Awards, to be held next February. The Grammys are the highest honor for any musician and it reflects on both the quality of the album as well as the kind of reception and popularity it was able to achieve.

Because it's not in English and he's not form America, "Gangnam Style" will have a hard time becoming a nominee but because of its intense popularity and sudden fame, it's not impossible. One insider said, "With Scooter Braun's extensive promotion plans for Psy, he could release a follow up song and if it does remotely well, the New Artist honor may not be that much of a stretch."
