Emily Kinney, Norman Reedus Shed Tears Discussing 'Walking Dead' Season 5 Mid-Season Finale Beth Greene Death: 'I Wasn't Ready For It To Be Over'

As "The Walking Dead" fans absorb season 5's devastating mid-season finale, two people who aren't ready to say goodbye are Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus.

"I sat on an apple box with my head between my legs and just balled for an hour," said Norman Reedus to TV Guide regarding filming "The Walking Dead" season 5 mid-season finale. "I really wanted not to tear up during [the scene] - I wanted to be like I wasted every tear in my body before we started shooting - so I just sat there and cried and cried and cried."

But Norman Reedus is not the only crying. As most fans know, "The Walking Dead" season 5 mid-season finale ended with Beth Greene, portrayed by Emily Kinney, being killed. During an interview with TVLine, the actress discussed the experience through tears.

"I think the writing throughout has been great, but I wasn't ready for it to be over. I think the Beth character, in particular... more could've been done with a teenager growing up [in that world]," said Emily Kinney.

"I did not see it coming at all, especially this season. It's weird, because I would've been OK with [this happening] in the second season or the third season, when I was like, 'Oh, maybe this character is coming to a close. What else is there to do with her?' But now I feel differently... I feel like there was still so much more to [explore.], like, what could have happened with Daryl?"

When asked who Emily Kinney will stay in contact with after "The Walking Dead," the actress naturally picked Norman Reedus as one of them.

"Norman and Lauren [Cohan]. And Scott Wilson. And Steven [Yeun]."
