Country music star Jake Owen has become known for his signature long locks, but it looks like the singer decided it was time for a change.

The "Beachin" singer debuted a brand new short haircut on Thursday, shocking fans who had grown fond of his long 'do. However, Owen's fresh look might just make the music heartthrob even cuter.

"Ughhhhh ohhhhhhhhh..........," Owen teased his Twitter followers on Thursday before posting a pic of his freshly chopped long brown locks scattered on the floor.

"And they said I wouldn't..." added the country singer.

Owen addressed how different he looks with the super short haircut, revealing that even his nephew couldn't picture him without the long 'do.

"My 18 yr old nephew @owenbailey90 just text me and said he doesn't even remember me with short hair.... Well... #weallwantwhatweaintgot," wrote Owen.

Finally, Owen posted the pic of his haircut with the playful caption, "High and tight...."     

The "What We Ain't Got" singer also showed off his drastic new look on Friday when he announced the nominees for Best Country Duo/Group during the 57^th Annual GRAMMYs nomination ceremony.

In a video that Owen later posted to Twitter, the singer read off the names of the nominees from a lush golf course. Dressed in golf gear, Owen covered his hair in with a visor.

The candidates the Best Country Duo/Group GRAMMY category include Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Keith Urban and Eric Church, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Can't wait to see if Owen rocks his new look on the GRAMMYs red carpet next year.
