Big Bang’s Taeyang Reportedly Invited To Attend Young Choice Awards In Beijing

Big Bang member Taeyang will be attending China’s popular awards ceremony, Young Choice, as Korea’s representative.

On December 7, Baidu revealed that Taeyang would be attending the ‘Young Choice’ awards in Beijing on December 10 as Korea’s representative.

The Young Choice awards is a popular ceremony in China and is geared more towards the young generation. Last year, Big Bang member G-Dragon attended the event and won the ‘Best Foreign Artist’ award.

Along with Taeyang, other top stars will be attending the event as well including popular Chinese stars, former Super Junior member Hankyung, Korean-Chinese group UNIQ and more.

On the other hand, Taeyang recently won 3 award at the 2014 MAMA on December 3 at the Hong Kong Asia World Expo Arena for his song, “Eyes, Nose, Lips.”

His second studio album Rise also ranked number 112 on the Billboard 200 chart, making him the highest ranking Korean solo artist on this chart.

He also made his first solo number one single on the Billboard K-Pop Hot 100 chart with “Eyes, Nose, Lips” as well.

He began training at YG Entertainment from the age of 12 and debuted as Big Bang in 2006. He first released his debut solo mini album in 2008.

He then released his first single, Only Look At Me, and later went on to receive 2 awards at the 7th annual Korean Music Awards. He is the first idol group member to win these awards.

Most recently, Taeyang and G-Dragon released their digital single, Good Boy, and has currently hit over 3 million views on YouTube with their music video. They debuted this song on stage at the 2014 Mnet MAMA’s in Hong Kong. This song was the first part of YG Entertainment’s hip-hop project. The second hip-hop project recently released their song, “Come Here” featuring Masta Wu, Dok2 and iKON’s Bobby.

The duo previously worked together with Taeyang’s previous solo song, “Ringa Linga” back in 2013.
