Fly to the Sky & Gummy's R&B Collaboration Concert: 'THE Attraction'

Gummy and Fly to the Sky held a press conference on December 11, regarding their joint concert, THE Attraction.

The press conference was held at the Ilchi Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. The three singers, with a 14 year friendship, acted very naturally around each other, and their ability to express emotion was exponentially greater together.

Fly to the Sky and Gummy started the press conference by revealing their practice location. With the band, they performed "Let's Love," "It's Okay, That's Love," and "You You You" while they switched between singing in solo and as a group. They showed very natural synergy while they were on stage, as they comfortably took charge of the stage, laughed, conversed, and sang. They acted as they normally would during practice.

Gummy stated, "I have done many collaborations, but I thought these two friends have the ability to attract anyone with their own unique charm." She also added, "Musically and as men, they have a lot of charm, so I thought this title suits them well."

Many of Fly to the Sky and Gummy's songs are sad ballads. Therefore, their concert was expected to consist of many emotional ballads.  However, they emphasized that they have "prepared a wide range of performances."

Gummy said, "We will tell the story of love and farewells. Within the story, there will be joyful and exciting songs.  We believe that giving joy and giving a message are very important."

Hwanhee confidently said, "I think it will be fun. There is a theme and a dramatic storyline. This concert about the 'attraction' of love and friendship has it all."

Fly to the Sky and Gummy's 14 year friendship is expected to distinguish the concert from other collaborations with natural synergy. Brian stated, "I have known Gummy for a long time. We don't meet outside of work, but even if we haven't seen each other for a while, it is never awkward. Teamwork came easily with someone we have been friends with for so long, and I was happy during practice. I am very comfortable with Gummy."

Gummy said, "To be honest, our personalities aren't eccentric or anything. We are all pretty average. I am comfortable around Brian, as if he is a friend I always stay in contact with, and I am closer to Hwanhee than my childhood friends from school. Even though we have known each other for a very long time, I would have performed in a fake way if we weren't in sync, but we are having fun preparing for this."

The fact that they perform in the same R&B genre is expected to make the concert stronger. Regarding their genre, Hwanhee said, "Being in the same R&B genre definitely has synergy." Gummy explained, "Many of my songs contain lyrics from the girl's perspective, and Fly To The Sky has many songs sung from the guy's perspective. It will be very good that we are singing from the perspectives of our own genders. We will be able to express warm love stories, too."

Anticipations for Fly to the Sky and Gummy's joint concert are high. Their R&B concert, THE Attraction, will be held on December 23 through December 25 at the Seoul Kyung Hee University Peace Palace.  Afterwards, the artists plan to tour cities in Korea, including Daegu, Busan, and Incheon.
