Preview Elementary Season 3 Midseason Finale Episode 8 'End Of Watch' Synopsis, Spoilers, And Promo Trailer [VIDEO]

"Elementary" Season 3 is in the works and approaching its midseason hiatus, here is everything currently known about the show.

The synopsis for episode 8 "The End of Watch" reads, "Holmes and Watson join forces with the NYPD after a police officer is murdered. Also, Sherlock searches for the creator of a "recovery blog" who is posting personal statements he has made in sobriety meetings."

Last week, Kitty made a comment about her "nonexistent" friends in regards to whom she would disclose information about her work with Sherlock. Perhaps after a few good shocks from Clyde, Kitty realized she should make an effort to have a life outside of the brownstone. At least for a few hours per week.

Another change in Sherlock's life may be the catalyst to his undoing. In an interview snippet from earlier in the week, creator Rob Doherty confirms that Sherlock will stop attending his support group meetings. In past episodes, Sherlock off-handedly mentions that he owes a great deal to those group sessions, as dull and repetitive as they may be, to keeping him sober. It all may be another test, much like the heroin in his pocket was at the close of last season, but this time he will at least have Joan on hand in case things do not pan out as planned."

Joan will have a new boyfriend, Andrew, but one of her exes will come back into her life in the seventh episode, according to a new report from TVLine. "Camargo's character, Chris, is Joan's former medical colleague as well as her ex-boyfriend. He reaches out to her for help with a problem - but during the course of their association, old feelings get stirred up. (Rumor has it the two were thisclose to getting married back in the day.)"

According to a new report from TVLine, there is going to be "at least 20″ episodes in the upcoming season, and the number may end up ballooning to a little more than that depending on what happens in the schedule.

There is a new trailer showing Joan (Lucy Liu) and Kitty (Ophelia Lovibond) getting off on the wrong foot in Season 3 of "Elementary," the two nearly come to blows. You can watch the trailer below.

Lucy Liu's character will face a nemesis while still coming to terms with Sherlock Holmes' new protégé, Kitty Winter.

Everything we know about season 3 so far is pointing to a major schism between Sherlock and Watson. Do you think the pair will break up for a time?

According to Fashion & Style, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) will not be getting along with Sherlock Holmes' (Jonny Lee Miller) new protégé, Kitty Winter, (Ophelia Lovibond). The two are seen in a preview "preparing for a battle of the batons," the article noted.

Ace Showbiz clarifies that Watson and Winter's first meeting happens before the new character is introduced as Holmes' new protégé. It remains unclear what Winter's motivations are, but it has allegedly been revealed by CBS that her "reasons for undertaking Holmes' partnership are nebulous."

Fashion & Style reports Phil Simms will be appearing on season 3 as himself. The article says Simms will be in the November 13 episode as Holmes' old friend. CBS considers Simms a "surprising, little known talent" that will join Meryl Streep's daughter, Mamie Gummer from "The Good Wife," in making an appearance. Gummer will be a New York heiress named Margaret Bray.

Elementary Season 3 is approaching its midseason break, check back for more information as it becomes available.
