Lee Joon & Thunder Confirm MBLAQ Departures, Future Member Line-Up Unclear

J.Tune Camp, MBLAQ's entertainment agency, has announced that two members will no longer promote with the idol group. The other three members of MBLAQ, Seungho, G.O, and Mir, will all remain under J.Tune Camp. Despite the departures, MBLAQ will not disband.

Lee Joon and Thunder, also known as Cheondung, announced earlier this year that they were likely to let their contracts with J.Tune Camp expire. Lee Joon and Thunder's contracts with J.Tune Camp ended in late November, and neither chose to renew their contracts.

The five performed for the last time at MBLAQ's Curtain Call, on November 29 and 30.

During the concert, The K-Pop Herald reported that Lee Joon thanked fans for supporting the group for five years.

"I don't know what to say," said Lee. "Some loved us from the beginning, but some didn't. Anyway, we are here, enjoying our time together and crying together. I am honored to be here with you. Thank you for being by our side from 2009 until now."

Lee Joon is currently acting in the drama Mr. Baek and will focus on that, while Thunder will focus on studying music.

Following the announcement, J.Tune Camp revealed that the three-members have plans to release a new album in 2015. A representative told Korean media that it is unclear whether MBLAQ will continue as three or will add more members in the future, but confirmed that MBLAQ will not disband.

MBLAQ member Mir wrote a message to MBLAQ's fans on MBLAQ's official fan café, and told fans that Lee Joon and Thunder are not leaving MBLAQ because of personal issues amongst the members. He apologized to the fans for the news, but expressed that he didn't feel badly towards Thunder and Lee Joon for making their individual choices.

MBLAQ's upcoming release is planned for February 2015.
