Beatles Reunite in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Ringo Starr Finally Get Inducted As Solo Artist

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their list of inductees for next year's class and they didn't miss a beat, or a Beatle. Ringo Starr, the drummer for The Beatles, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Starr will be given the Award For Musical Excellence Ringo is the last member of the band to be inducted individually.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2015. Rolling Stone reported that Green Day, Lou Reed, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bill Withers, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band will be inducted during a ceremony held next April.

Ringo recently gave an interview to Rolling Stone about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Award.

"Yeah, the big news! My goodness! I'm so excited. ... I think it's good. I didn't know that George and John were in it. I'm not keeping up with it all the time. We'll have a very nice evening and it'll be my pleasure to receive the award," he said.

The "human metronome" said he hadn't been keeping up with the goings-on in Cleveland, the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.

"No. I didn't think about it much or expect it. This year has been quite busy. I've been touring a lot. I got the humanitarian award from GQ. I became a male model for John Varvatos, so my life is busy anyway. This came out of the blue. I didn't expect it. I got the call from Paul two weeks ago. He said, 'This could happen. Do you want to do it?' I said, 'Sure,'" Ringo said.

Explaining the process, Starr said Paul McCartney told him about the induction a few weeks ago.

"He said, 'Would you accept the award?' I said, 'Sure, man.' He said he'd been talking to Dave Grohl and other people and they were stunned that I wasn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he needed something to do that night and he's going to give me the award," Starr explained.

For Starr, the award "means recognition. And it means, finally, the four of us are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even though we were the biggest pop group in the land, though now it all looks funny in black and white."
