After School’s Lizzy To Make Solo Debut With Trot Track Early Next Year

According to reports in the Korean media earlier this week, After School singer Lizzy will be making her solo debut next year.

The vocalist's debut single will reportedly be a trot style song, not a common move in the modern K-pop scene. Considered to be Korea's oldest pop music form, trot is believed to date back to the early 1900s.

It also appears to have a special place in the After School vocalist's heart.

Lizzy once admitted on "Three Wheels" that she had been accepted into After School after singing a trot song at the audition.

Lizzy first entered After School in 2010. She also was a part of the side project Orange Caramel, with her After School bandmates Raina and Nana. The group received significant attention in Korea and Japan.

In 2011 she made her acting debut in the MBC drama, “All My Love.” In 2012, she was cast for the MBC drama, “Rascal Sons.” Most recently, it has been confirmed that she will be appearing in the movie  “Love Forecast.”
