Planetside 2 PS4 Release Date: Planetside 2 beta for PS4 has begun. Planetside 2 has come to PlayStation 4. Sony confirmed that the Planetside 2 PS4 release date will be New Year's Eve, December 31, 2014. Sony might cut the maximum player count before Planetside 2 PS4 is released. Gamers can sign up and check out the console version of the free-to-play Planetside 2 from Sony.

The Planetside PS4 release date means the game will officially be one of the first games of its type available on the PS4.

Sony Online Entertainment PlayStation 4 development team previously said that cross-play between the PS4 and PC versions wouldn't be happening but the PS4 version compares wll with its PC counterpart.

According to reports, up to 2,000 players can fight on the same continent at one time and the details in the  Planetside 2 graphics are exquisite.

But still, PS4 players can't play with PC players.

Sony Online Entertainment developers are still working on hitting 60 frames per second with PlanetSide 2 on PlayStation 4.

Creative director Matt Higby talked about the delay of the playable beta, saying "As much as it sounds like we're blowing smoke, we're working hard to release a game that feels like a full-on console experience and not just like a port. It's taken us quite a long time to re-jigger our user interface and our controls. There's a lot that needs to get done. Our goal is at the end of the day to have our launch on the PS4 feel like a great PS4 native console game. Not just a PC port."

The "Planetside 2" beta sign-ups are available at the official website. Gamers enter their email address to enlist and they can be a part of the playable beta.  Gamers don't even need to enter a PSN ID.
