HTC One M9 'Hima' NOT Appearing At 2015 MWC Show? Windows Version Release Set For Next Summer?

The rumor mill about HTC One M9 release date continue to churn out interesting details about the upcoming smartphone.

According to a report from I Know Today, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer will be dropping the 'M' codename for the HTC flagship device. Citing the prolific tipster @upleaks, HTC One M9 will be referred to as "Hima."

As for the HTC One M9 "Hima" release date, previous speculations noted that the upcoming smartphone is most likely to appear during the Mobile World Congress event next year, which is scheduled from March 2-5. The new HTC flagship device will then hit the shelves weeks after its unveiling during the annual tech event.

However, the latest tech reports suggest that the Taiwanese tech titan will be holding a special event to launch the HTC One M9 "Hima," as reported by IB Times. This is essentially based on HTC One M8 release history as the tech company did not launch the 2014 flagship device during the CES 2014 event or MWC 2014. Instead, HTC hosted their own event for the smartphone's grand reveal.

This new release date rumor obviously contradicts the speculations that the HTC Hima will be unveiled during the MWC 2015 or CES 2015. HTC has not made any official statement yet regarding their upcoming flagship device so it would be best to take all these One M9 "Hima" release date rumors with a grain of salt.

Moreover, the recent reports about the HTC One M9 also suggest that a Windows version will also be available next year. Accordingly, its release date may be slated at some point during the middle part of 2015.

As for the specs, HTC Hima might sport a 5-inch display with 1080p screen resolution, together with a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB RAM, 20.7 MP primary camera and a battery with 2840mAh capacity.
