IU, Girls' Generation, SISTAR & EXO Named Korea's Favorite Singers In 2014

Female singers are the most popular in South Korea, according to a year-end Gallup Korea poll.

IU's popularity comes on the heels of the success of her song, "Sokyeokdong," a collaboration with Seo Taiji for his "Quiet Night" album.

IU also released her album "A Flower Bookmark, " a remake of seven songs, and featured on HIGH4's popular "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms." "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms," charted extremely well, and stayed atop of multiple music charts until the end of the year despite being released in May. IU also collaborated with Ulala Session, g.o.d, and Yoon Hyun Sang in 2014.

IU also is a popular actress, who appeared in the 2013 dramas You're The Best, Lee Soon Shin and Pretty Man.

In 2014, Girls' Generation released their, "Mr.Mr" album and subgroup Girls' Generation-TTS released their second mini-album, "Holler."

Third place went to Sistar, whose "Touch My Body" and "I Swear" were hits of the summer.

The list also included singers Lee Seung Chul, Cho Young Pil, Sung Si Kyung, and Seo Taiji, along with idol groups Big Bang, Beast, and g.o.d.
