2NE1's 'Gotta Be You' Becomes MTV Iggy's Song Of The Year Before CL's Solo Debut

Rounding off a year of impressive feats, 2NE1 has captured another accomplishment before CL's solo debut in 2015.

On Thursday, MTV Iggy's 2014 song of the year has been determined through polling to be 2NE1's "Gotta Be You" off of the album "Crush."

The ladies won the title over other artists such as Sia, Nico & Winz, Lorde, Charli XCX and Sam Smith.

"We were confident with the results," said 2NE1's leader Lee "CL" Chaerin to NYLON regarding "Crush." "But we didn't know how everyone would react to it."

"We're four crazy girls who are very different, but came together through our love for music. Our goal is just to put the best music out there. We don't focus on any one region or country-we do this for everyone."

But this is not the only notable accomplishment for 2NE1 this week.

A day earlier, America producer Diplo unleashed the music video for "Dirty Vibe" featuring CL and Big Bang's G-Dragon, who are both labelmates under the Korean record label YG Entertainment.

Currently, CL is preparing for her American debut, and Skrillex as well as American producer Diplo will likely collaborate with the 23-year-old K-pop idol.

"I'm very happy about advancing into America and think I'm going to work a lot with Diplo," CL said at the 2014 Style Icon Awards, where she was accompanied by Diplo.

"Diplo is so cool and good-looking."

2NE1 is expected to be seen at the 2014 "SBS Gayo Daejun" on December 21. However, due to Park Bom abstaining from domestic activities, OSEN reported that only CL, Minzy and Dara will attend the year-end event.

"2NE1 cannot put on a show without Park Bom," said a YG rep according to allkpop. "However, besides that, Park Bom is not participating in any other domestic schedules. She is currently taking time to self-reflect. Please support them until they make their comeback. They will make a good album and come back as 2NE1."
