'Star Wars' Spin Off Movies To Start Filming In Pinewood Studios! Director Gareth Edwards Have Already 'Booked' The Film Says Pinewood's CEO

According to previous reports there is going to be "at least three" "Star Wars" spin off movies coming starting 2016.

The first film is reportedly going to be released on December 16, 2016 - one year following "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" hits cinemas.

And as the seventh installment to the franchise is already done filming, it is expected that the follow up movie is gearing up. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gareth Edwards' 3D scifi film will also be shot at Pinewood Studios, the same venue where most of "Star Wars" film where filmed.

Ivan Dunleavy, Pinewood's CEO revealed during its annual CBI conference in London that another "Star Wars" film is already booked following the conclusion of "The Force Awakens."

"The seventh Star Wars movie just finished shooting at Pinewood. And I'm delighted to be able to tell you that a new Star Wars movie is already booked in," he revealed.

He did not however reveal what "Star Wars" film is booked in the facility. It may be "Star Wars Episode VIII" or the first of the scheduled spin off movies.

However, another insider of The Hollywood Reporter admits that the film Dunleavy is talking about will be the first of the upcoming "Star Wars" spin off movies and it will be most likely to start on 2015.

"R2D2 was built in the U.K. 37 years ago," Dunleavy explained while introducing the famous "Star Wars" character on stage. "Since then, he's spent a lot of his life in foreign studios. But now he's back home."

It has also been reported that the three "Star Wars" spin off movies will include Han Solo, Yoda and Boba Fett standalone films.

The Han Solo standalone movie is reportedly going to take place between the period of "Reveng of the Sith" and the first "Star Wars" film "A New Hope."

Which of the three reported "Star Wars" movies will be released first has yet to be announced.
