United States Pins North Korea Behind Sony Attack, Says It’s a Serious National Security Matter

The United States government looks at the Sony cyber-attack as "serious national security matter," New York Daily News reported.

Although North Korea has washed its hand on the attack and instead issued a statement that it could have been its supporters that hacked into Sony Pictures, White House is not buying it.

The New York Daily News report stated in its article that, "the U.S. is considering possible options in response to the hack, blamed on North Korea. U.S. experts said options could include cyber retaliation and economic sanctions."

The attack, reports say ensued due to the upcoming movie "The Interview" which revolves around the assassination of North Korea's leader.

Sony Pictures have decided to cancel the release of the film. The hacking was so big that several reports have already come out regarding leaked information through the hacking.

Despite the cancelling of the film, ABC News reported that there have been people who was able to view the film.

Sony Pictures last week issued a statement sent to media organizations to cease from posting hacked documents online, the New York Times reported.

Quoting a statement from David Boies, a lawyer for Sony stated, the studio "does not consent to your possession, review, copying, dissemination, publication, uploading, downloading or making any use."

The studio is now trying to put a stop for further online leak of the "stolen information," circulating in the Internet after a cyber attack on its security.

"If you do not comply with this request, and the stolen material is used or disseminated by you in any manner, SPE will have no choice but to hold you responsible for any damage or loss," Boies added in the letter.

But despite the warning, there are still information being leaked on the web.

President Barack Obama who was also been a subject of racist comments between producers at Sony in a recent statement said that the studio is making a mistake by not releasing the film.
