Smokey Robinson Comes to Valley Forge; Motown Legend Will Second That Emotion At The Valley Forge Casino Resort Music Fair

Smokey Robinson will spend the winter at Valley Forge. The Motown legend kicked off the Valley Forge Casino Resort Music Fair with a sold-out performance on December 13, launching the revival of a local music tradition.


Smokey Robinson was the first artist in a series that revives the 40-year tradition of bringing national headliners to the Main Line. Smokey Robinson launched the Valley Forge Casino Resort Music Fair.


"Smokey Robinson's performance, and the launch of our Music Fair series, has created tremendous buzz in the Philadelphia area. He was the perfect iconic performer to launch this signature series that brings national headliners to Valley Forge," said Valley Forge Casino Resort (VFCR) Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Galle.


"VFCR is not a typical music venue - a night out includes upscale dining options from famed Philadelphia chef Tony Clark, a tavern and country-western inspired nightclub, a safe, exclusive gaming environment, and hotel amenities. By bringing national headliners to our resort, we are offering an unparalleled guest experience," Galle Continued.


Smokey Robinson, who inspired so many artists including The Beatles, performed in front of more than 1,000 fans in the casino's newly-renovated convention center. Robinson performed some of the biggest hits from his expansive catalog including "Second that Emotion," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" and "Tears of a Clown." 
The Valley Forge Casino Resort Music Fair will continue with a varied mix of famous acts like the disco hitmakers KC and the Sunshine Band in January, two Comedy Underground shows with Dave Attell in February. Country star Josh Turner will stop off for his Roughstock and Rambler Tour in March. Additional acts will be announced in January.
