Se7en Updates His Twitter Account With Military Discharge Date

LUCKYSE7EN, it's almost time! An unexpected update to idol Se7en's Twitter account, referencing upcoming date December 28, 2014, happened on December 22nd, Korean time. The change in the biography section of his Twitter profile is the first activity on the social media account since March 18, 2013, the date when he enlisted with the 306 Reserve in UijeongbuGyeonggi Province for 5 weeks of basic training.

Reports that South Korean singer Se7en, born Choi Dongwook, was approaching military discharge have floated around the Internet for several months. Conscription for South Korean men is mandatory; and, depending on the branch, they must serve between 21 to 36 months. Although the update to his social media account could potentially be a speculative date, public records in 2013 state that he would serve 21 months and be discharged on or around December 28th this year.

Se7en, under the guidance of YG Entertainment, began his trainee days at the age of 13 and debuted in 2003.  While enlisted, he was associated with a scandal that, ultimately, changed how K-pop idols are received in South Korean military. During his pre-miltary time, he advanced his musical career in Japan, China and the United States. The latter was not well received and possibly serves as a reminder for YG Entertainment on what not to do when attempting to break their artists in America.

At the time of this article, the official fancafe has no updated information regarding Se7en's discharge or the speculation that the update on Twitter is associated with his military discharge. Are you excited for the return of Se7en?
