By 2025, Internet privacy might be a thing of the past if policymakers are unable to put in framework in place.

Digital Trends reported that according to a report from PEW called "The Future of Privacy" focuses on canvassing "thousand of experts to ask them to predict the future of privacy in America and found they were divided on whether or not a secure, trusted, privacy-rights infrastructure would be in place by 2025."

Based on the Pewinternet.org website, the report is a look into the future of privacy in light of" the technological change ever-growing monetization of digital encounters, and shifting relationship of citizens and their governments that is likely to extend through the next decade."

The report also noted that some 55% of these respondents said "no" they do not believe that an accepted privacy-rights regime and infrastructure would be created in the coming decade, while 45% said "yes" that such an infrastructure would be created by 2025.

But then, some respondent opined that since Internet is a public platform, people are expected to lose some of their privacy when posting personal information online.

Respondents of the "canvassed survey" are "experts" in the Web technology stage. The respondents are composed of 2,500, with some having long answers regarding the future of privacy.

The New American quoted one expert about the life in the Internet, most of them agree that when you put out information in the Internet, in the social media, you are kind of saying goodbye to privacy.

"We have all seen examples of people living out loud on social media, posting details of their lives including schedules, personal information, where they are, who they are with, what they are doing, and what they are eating. It seems that little thought is given to privacy as a new generation learns to live nearly every aspect of their lives out in the open," one expert respondent was quoted as saying.
