5 K-Pop Web Videos You Should Stream Right Now, Part 2

The world of K-pop is global and diverse, and there's more to it than just what the stars show us. There's plenty of great K-pop web series out there. We compiled some of them here, and keep reading for even more.

Jung Saem Mool's Makeup Tutorials

Jung Saem Mool is the beginning and the end of K-pop makeup. The artist has worked with most of the biggest names in the business, prepping their looks for everything from the red carpet to sold-out performances. Lucky for us, she's got a series of YouTube videos showing us all her makeup secrets. The biggest strength of these videos is the variety. Viewers can see all the work that goes into the colorful, over-the-top makeup of music videos or award shows, but they've also got tips on looking fresh-faced and natural for just an average day.

The Happiest People in New York

This web series follows the fictional lives of upbeat New Yorkers. A lot of the storylines are great, but it's worth following for the story of Tommy Chong. He's the recent med school grad that's ditching his Chinese family's hopes for a flourishing medical career in favor of becoming a K-pop star. "The Korean wave is here, and I want to ride it," he declares, as he takes on the stressful job of working at a madhouse noraebang in NYC's K-Town. From cringing at his solo after-hours practice sessions to applauding his enthusiasm, this series is a fun one.

Waveya

Ever listen to a song - could be classical, could be K-pop hit - and think, 'you know what would make this better? Some Korean dancers?' Then have we got some videos for you! You may recognize Waveya from one of their most famous videos, where they dance in front of some of Seoul's most famous landmarks in skimpy outfits - not to the latest pop hits, but to one of Dvorak's favorite symphonies. Sometimes weird, sometimes wacky, and always a new perspective on great music, this is a fun one to pop in on often.

IU TV

This is a double whammy series - you get to know Korean sweetheart IU a little better, and you also get her backstage access that shows other K-pop stars goofing around or prepping for performances. IU's charm carries the show. This is a new series (only two episodes have aired) so you can be the first of your friends to become a fan of this before it gets huge.

Teach Me KPOP

This is the series to watch for any aspiring K-pop dancers (even if the dancing is only for the comfort of your own living room.) Teach Me KPOP breaks down the dance moves to several K-pop hits through incredibly detailed, mirrored, step-by-step instructions in his videos. Advanced dancers can work their way through the videos quickly, but for those with a little less experience, Teach Me KPOP gives dancers time to learn the moves, apply the music, and then speed it up to a video-worthy performance.
