PlayStation Now Offers Access To Selected PS3 Games On 2015 As Sony And Samsung Creates Smart TVs Without PS Consoles!

Sony and Samsung are collaborating to offer gamers a festive treat. Samsung smart TVs will now have access to the PlayStation Now game streaming service in 2015.

PlayStation Now (P S Now) is a Gaikai-based video game streaming service used to provide PlayStation gaming content to PS4, PS Vita, PS3, Playstation TV and BRAVIA televisions. It has been in open beta for Sony consoles and televisions for quite a while now, however, when it was first announced, it was implied that we'd see the service on many other devices too. Nevertheless, we are going to start seeing the service being its full roll-out in 2015.

On December 24, 2015, Sony announced the PlayStation Now will expand to the other electronic brands. Samsung will be first to launch on selected Smart TV's in the first half of 2015. Users will be able to download it as an app from the Samsung Smart Hub, but will need to have a PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controller to be able to play any games. Once the Sony Dualshock controller is plugged in, you can fire up an app on the TV and choose from over 200 PlayStation 3 games to start playing right away.

With PlayStation now offering users the opportunity to stream PlayStation 3 games for a rental fee, we will see PlayStation expanding its library to include other PlayStation console in the new future and we can hardly wait! Moreover, it will be offering users, subscriptions in addition to one-off rentals. Without a doubt, it's an attempt at a Netflix-like model and it's easy to understand how that appeal to Sony considering the huge popularity that Netflix has accumulated in recent years.

Since games are streamed from the cloud, there is no need for downloads. Users can play games online against friends and also save the progress in the cloud, allowing users to pick up next time where they left off. One thing you'll need to ensure is a fast internet connectivity to do the game justice since streaming, lag could be an issue.

PlayStation Now is currently in Open Beta for the US and Canada. Neither company has yet responded to a request for more information on whether the service will be available outside of the US and Canada.
