Eminem Declares He Is Gay In 'The Interview?' Surprise Cameo Appearance Pokes Fun At Rapper's Frequently Homophobic Lyrics [PHOTO]

Eminem has just declared he is gay! Well... sort of. According to the Huffington Post, the American rapper is just one of many celebrities to poke fun at himself with a cameo appearance in the controversial new movie, "The Interview."

He appears in the movie's opening scenes as a guest on James Franco's character Dave Skylark's late-night chat show, "Skylark Tonight." He tells the audience he is "homosexual," stating, "When I say things about gay people, or people think my lyrics are homophobic - it's because I'm gay... I'm more shocked that people haven't figured it out yet. I mean, it's kind of like I've been playing gay peek-a-boo."

The rapper has been known for his frequently homophobic lyrics, which have notoriously gotten him in trouble with LGBT rights activists. However, he has claimed that he is actually not homophobic, and in 2010 he came out in favor of marriage equality. Of course, he did so in his own unique way - he responded to an interview with MTV by saying, "I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want."

It seems that everything about "The Interview" is controversial. According to The Mirror, Sony Pictures pulled the film's wide release last week when larger cinema chains opted against screening the film following a terrorist threat. Furthermore, the FBI implicated North Korea as the culprit, possibly in retaliation for the film's depiction of the assassination of leader Kim Jong-un.

Nonetheless, the film will be screened in 320 independent cinemas across the United States starting December 25. Sony has also recently confirmed that viewers will be able to rent or buy the film from YouTube Movies, Google Play, Microsoft's Xbox Video, and via SeeTheInterview.com, where the cost is $5.99 to rent and $14.99 to purchase.
