'How I Met Your Mother' Star Neil Patrick Harris Gets Ready For Oscar Hosting; Reminds Public On To Watch Out For The Oscars In February

Neil Patrick Harris is reminding us during this holiday season that 2015 Oscars is coming in a few months, Newsinstyle reported.

Harris promoted for the first time his first ever stint as Oscar's host, wearing a tuxedo and red scarf and the Oscar Statute as a backdrop. On video he said, "This holiday season, give your family a gift they'll never forget. Instead of traditional presents, give the gift of simply telling them to watch me host the Oscars."

Oscars will be aired on ABC on February 22 at 7 p.m.

"How I Met Your Mother" actor will follow in the footsteps of Ellen De Generes who has hosted this year's Academy Awards.

"To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true," Harris was quoted saying in earlier reports announcing his new project.

Harris has hosted the Tony Awards four times and the Primetime Emmy Awards. His gig as host of said events have been praised.

Academy Awards co-producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan have only good words for Harris. The duo is producing the show for the third time.

"To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, as all of his resources and talent will come together on a global stage," Meron said.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harris meanwhile said that he is looking forward to the event and it would be challenging because he will try and balance how he hosts it.

"I want to also just make sure that it's a classy event," he said. "I've always loved the Oscars and have great respect for its history, and the gowns, and the classiness of it. And I loved Johnny Carson and Billy Crystal and honoring the gravity of it without getting heavy and boring. And I have no idea how to balance that, but that's going to be the task ahead," he said in the EW interview.
