Azealia Banks News: 'Chasing Times' Rapper Promotes Reparations On Twitter As She Runs Down On Leading Corporations For Benefiting From Slave Labor!

American rapper, singer and songwriter, Azealia Banks who is no stranger to speaking her mind on controversial topics, is willing to end her music career to track down the descendants of slave traders and making them pay reparations. Banks, who pursued an interest in musical theatre at a young age, has spent recent weeks feuding with Iggy Azalea over the appropriate of black culture. The 23-year-old entertainer took to Twitter on Friday to discuss the issue. Revealing her new passion, Banks posted an article about Mark Anthony DeWolf who traded slaves from 1769 through 1820.

Banks began by tweeting, "I wonder where the descendants of the 'DeWolf' family are today. they should all have their houses burned and their finances seized." Then she tweeted directly at one of those descendants, James DeWolf Perry, who is involved in a new documentary about his family coming to terms with its ugly legacy, asking about his profits from the project. Perry replied, "Thanks for asking. No, I'm not making any money from documenting the DeWolf family's slave trading past."

On Friday, Banks said in a tweet, "ITS MY MONEY, AND I WANT IT NOWWWWW!!!!!!"

According to Banks, these companies owe African-American up to $100 trillion and went as far as naming corporations such as Aetna, Ney York Life Insurance and JP Morgan Chase who according to her have benefited off of slavery. She even tweeted directly at one of those descendants, James DeWolf Perry, who is involved in a new documentary about his family acknowledge its ugly legacy. When Perry was asked about his profits from the project, he replied, "Thanks for asking. No, I'm not making any money from documenting the DeWolf family's slave trading past."

Things intensified when Banks, who was signed to XL Recordings at age 17, asked Perry, "Excuse me sir, but all the money you are making from documenting UR family's history of slave trading... Are you giving it back?"

Perry explained he was trying to help educate American about the legacy of slavery and he also pointed out that he personally does not still have wealth earned from the slave trade. He told Banks,  "In my branch, they spent it in 1-2 generations, in the early 1800s. We then became ministers until very recently," he added, "I'm volunteering, not taking money."

Banks tweeted,  "This generation of young black kids needs to make a CONCERTED effort to seek out living descendants of major slave trading families... They Owe us Money." She added, "Jews and Native Americans all got reparations because they organized. Please don't let my 'beef' with hip-hop distract from what we need... To be focusing on. We are owed MAJOR F*CKING BUCKS kids, MAJOR BUCKS."

Besides, she also tweeted numerous stories about reparations to Holocaust survivors, the issue of reparations to Native Americans and the corporations who benefited from slavery.
