Guns N Roses Patience Pays Off; Axl Rose and Slash Will Reunite On The Big Screen?

Guns N Roses New Album 2014: Guns N Roses are hitting the big screen. Slash and Axl Rose may not agree on the cinematic possibilities of the hard rock band, but that won't stop two new GnR film projects from hitting theaters this year.

It has already been reported that a Guns N Roses biopic is coming, but it was recently announced that Guns N' Roses will release a 3D concert movie this summer.

The new film, "Appetite for Democracy 3D" was shot two years ago when Guns N Roses had a residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The November 21, 2012 concert celebrated the 25th anniversary of Guns N' Roses classic album "Appetite for Destruction."

Besides their best known cuts, Axl Rose also leads Guns N' Roses through covers of rock classics like The Who's "The Seeker."

"Appetite for Democracy 3D" will open on June 18 and 19, 2015 and drop DVD and Blu-ray on July 1.

A Guns N' Roses film adaptation of Marc Canter's 2008 biography of the group, "Reckless Road: Guns N' Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction," will reportedly not be a documentary. He says it will be a major biopic featuring A-list actors

Marc Canter had this to say on the Guns N Roses message board: "I do have a big say so on the script which is still being put together now but so far looking cool. I am going to see that everyone in the cast is doing their job and doing justice to the band. Since I was there, I know what the dialog was between the band for many of the events that took place. When you find out who is making the movie, you will then understand that it will be very cool. I'm proud of all the hard work that was put into this project and it's just going to KICK ASS! In no way will it be a cheesy movie like Rock Star. There really is such a great story here that even the outtakes will be great."

"When you find out who is making the movie, you will then understand that it will be very cool. The people I'm working with are the best ones to do this project. "[Reckless Road] tells the killer rock'n'roll story of the best band around ... [and the film is] just going to KICK ASS! In no way will it be a cheesy movie like [2001 Mark Wahlberg vehicle] Rock Star ... It will bring a whole new slew of fans and sell a shitload of records for the band."

According to Guns N' Roses ex-drummer Matt Sorum, in 2012 he was "in talks about with a couple of pretty big people" about writing the script to a biopic. "If you look at rock'n'roll movies ... like Mark Wahlberg and Rock Star ... they've never been done right ... [With Guns N' Roses] there was a much sort of more street, dark undercurrent happening that could be great on film."

Slash isn't too happy that there are reports that a Guns N' Roses feature film might be on its way.

Earlier this year, Slash told the Belfast Telegraph "I don't think rock'n'roll translates in the movies ... I don't think they really get the gritty vibe of what it's like ... [and] I would not like to see a Guns N' Roses biopic."
