Shinhwa To Make Comeback For First Time Since 2013

Two years since their last album, Shinhwa has announced that it will be releasing a new album in 2015.

In celebration of their fifteenth anniversary, first-generation K-pop idol group Shinhwa will be making a comeback in February. The name of the group's 12th studio album has yet to be announced, but the group is expected to promote with all six members following the release in late February.

Shinhwa last release as a group was "The Classic," in May 2013. Since then, Shinhwa's members have held concerts as a group and also promoted as solo artists.

The February album will be the first time that member Andy will be making a return to the Korean entertainment industry since going on hiatus due to illegal gambling charges.

Along with the upcoming album, Shinhwa will release a concert film, "Shinhwa Live 3-D The Legend Continues." The film will be released in both 3-D and 4-DX formats so that fans can view the concert in theaters as if they were in attendance during the 2013 shows that celebrated the group's fifteenth anniversary.

2015 will mark the seventeenth year that Shinhwa's six members have spent together, making them one of K-pop's longest running acts.

Shinhwa debuted in 1998 under SM Entertainment until their contracts expired in 2003. SM Entertainment offered individual members contracts, but Shinhwa left the Korean entertainment megahouse in favor of staying together as a group.

Shinhwa is currently self-managed by Shinhwa Company for all activities as a group in South Korea. Eric and Minwoo are the co-CEOS, while the other four members of Shinhwa are shareholders at the company.

The group's last single, "This Love," was released in May 2013.
