Voice actress Christine Cavanugh recently passed away on December 22nd at the age of 51 in her home in Utah. As of now, the cause of death is unknown. Cavanaugh is best known for being the voice behind "Babe," Chuckie in "The Rugrats," and Dexter from "Dexter's Laboratory."

According to an obituary in the Los Angeles Times, "She was able to do incredible and amazing things with her voice and bring lots of smiles and many laughs to many people... Her imagination, humor and intelligence were evident to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Christine has touched many lives, some we know and others we do not.

Whether she was a baby sitter as an adolescent, a voice in a cartoon, an aunt, a sister, and friend, young or old it didn't matter. She always made the most of where you were and what circumstance arose. Many know of her from the roles she played, but in each role there was a part of her showing through that the ones who truly knew her could see."

BBC reports that Cavanaugh began her career with small parts on TV shows before she was cast as Chuckie Finster in "The Rugrats" in 1991. Afterwards, in 1995 she became the voice of Babe in the movie "Babe," a heroic pig who wants to become a sheepdog.

In 1996, she got the role of Dexter from "Dexter's Laboratory," and was twice nominated for an Annie Award for her work before receiving it in 2000. She also played parts in other cartoons such as "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters,"  "Sonic the Hedgehog,"  "The Wild Thornberrys," and "The Powerpuff Girls."

Cavanaugh retired from voice acting in 2001, and moved back to her native Utah to be closer to her family. According to her obituary, a memorial for her death was held on Antelope Island in Utah.
