'Soul Eater' Creator Atsushi Ohkubo Reveals Plans For New 2015 Series Via Twitter

Before Twitter and other social media outlets, it was hard for any celebrity or organization to accidentally reveal new information. Almost all public interaction would be controlled concise answers, and if a fan heard something in private, it could be easily denied.

Now however, with fans persistently requesting new information via personal social media accounts, any accidental reveals become instantly recorded with no delete option.

But this isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially for anime fans who are used to hearing about things at the last possible minute.

Recently, "Soul Eater" creator Atsushi Ohkubo allegedly let slip on Twitter that he has something in the works for 2015. As for details as to what it might be, fans are left to speculation until his official announcement next year.

Fans have already begun to speculate what the new Ohkubo project might be, but they're divided between whether it will be an entirely new series or if it will be another "Soul Eater" arc.

"I doubt it will be a sequel but whatever it is, I'm kinda interested in it," said Stark700 in an ANN forum.

"Soul Eater 4-koma forthcoming?" questioned Hameyadea.

"I've only read the first 5 volumes of Soul Eater, and the first 2 volumes of Soul Eater NOT, but I've seen the anime of both. I imagine it won't be related to Soul Eater, I think he'd rather start a new series. I'm looking forward to seeing what it is," exclaimed Cyclone1993.

Anime News Network reports that Atsushi Ohkubo's tweet informs the fan that he's "currently making preparations so he can announce a new series in 2015."

For those unfamiliar with Ohkubo's most famous anime series "Soul Eater," Funimation provides the following synopsis for the series:

"Maka is a Meister and Soul is her Weapon. As students at the Grim Reaper's Death Weapon Meister Academy, their study habits couldn't be more different. But in battle against the supernatural forces of evil, they're a freakin' lethal team.

That's when Soul transforms - literally - into a razor-sharp scythe, and every defeated wicked soul he sucks down makes him more deadly. That's when Maka unleashes the merciless slayer within, wielding her partner and dropping monsters. Seriously. Monsters. Like the witches, werewolves, and zombies that lurk in the shadows and feed on the souls of the innocent.

Every freakish ghoul Maka and Soul take out strengthens their bond, and fighting alongside their fellow Meister/Weapon classmates, Maka and Soul are the world's last line of defense against evil."
