Install Android 4.4.4 KitKat Update On Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1; Official Firmware Brings In Bug Fixes And Pre-Loaded Apps

Those who own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 can now officially install Android 4.4.4 KitKat firmware!

Verizon finally releases the official firmware based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat for its variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. The firmware brings in various bug fixes and performance enhancements. The post on Christian Post reads:

"The tablet has now a self-activation support and ICC ID information added to Settings. The bugs such as VPN and Chrome cast connectivity issues are fixed."

Moreover, the firmware also comes with pre-loaded apps ans services like Kids Mode Widget, Email Widget, Find My Mobile, and My Verizon version 10.0.710.  

The firmware should be available for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 via Over-the-Air notification. Those who are eager to install the official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update can check their tablet's notification panel to see if the firmware is already available. Owners should note though that it may take a while for the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update to reach all the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1  units.

 It is also possible to manually check the availability of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Go to the Settings menu of the tablet, choose About Device and then look for Software Updates and then tap Check for Updates.

Meanwhile, those who have received the OTA notification simply needs to confirm the download to start accessing the update files. After the download process, tap Install Now for the automatic installation to begin.

Make sure to have stable Wi-fi connection when downloading the firmware to avoid unwanted data charges.
