'Sherlock' Season 4, 'Doctor Who' Series 9 Filming Begins Next Week: 'Being Human' Director To Helm 2 Episodes Of Peter Capaldi Series

As 2015 begins, BBC fans are anticipating both "Sherlock" and "Doctor Who" as filming is set to begin very soon.

Although Steven Moffat has not confirmed the dates himself, many observers believe that filming for both "Doctor Who" season 9 and "Sherlock" season 4 are set to begin January 5.

"Steven Moffat is going to be a bloody busy man," tweeted Whouffaldi af Alicia on Twitter.

According to Doctor Who TV, director Daniel O'Hara ("Being Human," "Wizards vs. Aliens") is the first name confirmed for "Doctor Who" season 9, according to his online CV. Observers have also noted that the two episodes listed on his CV claim they are 60 minutes as opposed to 45.

"60 minutes?" commented DrKnockers05 on Doctor Who TV. "Hope that applies to all episodes in the series. 45 minutes is okay but in some cases, it's not enough." 60 minute long episodes would definitely help each episode's plot to develop significantly."

Meanwhile, the "Sherlock" Christmas special is slated to begin filming next week as well, with a new season set to premiere afterwards.

Although "Sherlock" is still a year away, BBC has already premiered a new teaser featuring the popular series.
