4minute’s HyunA Ranks 5th On Rolling Stones ‘10 Best Music Videos of 2014’ List

4minute member HyunA has ranked number 5 on Rolling Stone’s ‘10 Best Music Videos of 2014’ list.

Last year, HyunA released her solo album which included her title song, “Red.” Her song was ranked 5th on the Rolling Stone’s ‘2014 Best Music Videos 10’ and was the only Asian artist to be seen on this list.

Rolling Stones introduced HyunA’s song, “Red” and the music video and stated that it “might be just right for an American crossover.”

Rolling Stones called her hit song a “schizophrenic mess, switching from trap and hip-hop to bubbly pop and slinky Middle Eastern electro.”

HyunA’s music video was listed next to other top artists including Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”, Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts” and more.

After “Red” was released in Korea, it quickly made its way to the number 1 spot on music charts and became a huge hit in Korea, according to reports.

Her music video also received an overwhelming number of views and is currently over 20 million views as of today.

HyunA’s popularity in Korea is not a new thing. She has received much attention since her debut for her sexy and charismatic image. She was also chosen as one of the best K-Pop idols from various U.S. media and news.

Last March, she attended ’SXSW’ festival in Texas as Korea’s representative and received much praise for her shocking performance.

Spin magazine also chose her song, “Bubble Pop” as one of the best Pop singles as well.

On the other hand, HyunA will be performing “Red” at Beijing’s 2014 Golden Disk Awards on January 14.
