Season 3 And Cancellation Rumors Emerge For 'Roommate'

As the second season of "Roommate" continues to broadcast on SBS, opposing rumors have surfaced regarding the future of the series.

On Monday, a rep from "Roommate" told TV Report about the possibility of a third season, saying that "nothing has been confirmed right now."

"'Roommate' is currently pursuing gradual change with the format, such as inviting guests," said another rep to Sports World according to allkpop.

"Currently, the viewer ratings are not all that bad, so there will be small changes like [the ones going on] right now instead of an overall restructuring."

However, the following day, another report surfaced regarding a possible cancellation of "Roommate." Reportedly, filming for season two is slated to end on February 25 and another season seems unlikely.

However, this report was later denied by the show's producer Park Sang Hyuk.

"The report that ['Roommate'] will end filming on February 25 is false," said Park. "Filming for February 25 has not even been set. I am just flabbergasted at how these rumors came about."

"Another [producer], who directed 'Roommate' with [Park], is preparing for a pilot variety show so maybe that's why these rumors came about," said another rep allegedly to Xports News.

"Please never ever replace this season's 'Roommate' members with anyone else, especially [Jackson and Youngji]," commented rosette88 on Wednesday.

Jackson and Youngji are particularly popular amongst "Roommate" fans, with many hoping to see the pair develop a "some" relationship, a lingo referring to a relationship before it is labeled as one.

"I get asked whether I'm in a 'some' relationship with Youngji a lot," said Jackson to TV Daily. "Rather than being in a 'some' relationship, it is because we are really very close.  In addition, truthfully, there's no one else with whom I can bicker.  I can't go to Park Joon Hyung and be like that."
