The Next Generation of Idol Actors, How Far Will They Go?

What do Suzy, CNBLUE, Yoochun, and Uee all have in common?

They are all acting idols, known for their well-honed acting abilities.

Idols are definitely not limiting themselves to just the stage and their music. Many of them aim more for the perfect entertainer and are raising their values by training in acting.

miss A's Suzy has made herself into more of an actress with "Dream High" and her film, "Architecture 101." CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa, Kang Min Hyuk have definitely made themselves into hot commodities as actors and Uee has been steadily building her filmography.

JYJ Yoochun has been one of the most prolific and is perhaps the most recognized acting idol at the moment.

Meanwhile, ZE:A Kim Dong Jun, A Pink Son Na Eun and CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin are rising up to become the next generation of acting idols.

◆ Kim Dong Jun Debuted On Film

ZE:A's Kim Dong Jun made his debut in the film, "Working Man." He was known for his effeminate and pretty face but he had always managed to portray a masculine image on stage and now on film. It could have been easy for him to be in a teenage romance TV show but he chose to play a killer in a serious movie.

He has also been getting good reviews for his performance. He fit in quite naturally even next to So Ji Sub, who was the male lead in the movie.

◆ Son Na Eun, Will She Be the Next Suzy?

Son Na Eun is another acting idol who has been getting attention. She was known for her pretty animated face and she had very good potential to become an actor. As her fellow A Pink member Jung Eunji began getting good reviews, Son Na Eun got onto the scene and began following in her footsteps.

Son Na Eun is playing the younger version of Kim So Yeon's character in "The Great Seer." She said she put a lot of effort into preparation for her role because it was her first attempt at acting. There are some split opinions about how she's doing but people believe that she has potential to improve.

◆ Lee Jung Shin, Completes CNBLUE's Acting Career

Lee Jung Shin debuted on KBS's "My Daughter Seo Young," which meant that all the members of CNBLUE debuted as actors. Lee Jung Shin played Kang Sung Jae, a troublemaker with a big heart. Though he had a lot of expectations to live up to, he seemed relatively stable and seemed calm.

People are wondering if they will be able to continue spanning from genre to genre and achieving very successful acting careers and breaking the stereotype of the idol actor who only does it because of their popularity.
