JYP Trainee G-Soul To Finally Debut After 15 Long Awaited Years

Long time JYP trainee G-Soul will finally debut on the 19th after a long training process.

JYP President Park Jin Young released a statement via Twitter on the 9th claiming, "G-Soul will release 20 songs that he has been working on for the past 9 years. It is so surprising to see that shy young boy 15 years ago transform into this fruitful artist right before my eyes." The comment was also accompanied with a link to G-Soul's teaser trailer.

Although the visual trailer was short in length, it left quite an impact on viewers. The teaser, appropriately titled "Coming Home," consisted of footage surrounding G-soul's personal life, from his studio sessions to the busy places he frequents.  Finally, the teaser ends with the message "G-Soul 2015.01.19 0AM, Album & MV Release", revealing the date of his anticipated debut.

Park Jin Young recalls his first meeting with the talented singer in 2001, claiming that the kid was so talented that Park had to send him abroad for training. Despite the fact that G-Soul was not guaranteed a debut date, the young R&B artist worked hard during the long process and grew immensely in that time period. At one point, the young Korean boy had transformed into an artist that even American musicians were impressed by, and soon G-Soul was working with top American producers towards his debut American album.

However, during the brink of G-Soul's debut, the financial crisis of the Lehman Brothers caused the whole music industry to falter, causing high risk projects like G-Soul's album to drop through the cracks. G-Soul sadly recalls that there was no choice but to fold his plans for the time being during that tumultuous time.

Park Jin Young briefly stated, "The pain of a lost childhood, the struggles of his family's situation, and the loneliness of a foreign lifestyle will all shine through in the works of G-Soul's upcoming album. I am proud to introduce this young man to you all."
