K-Pop's Tough Maknae's!

It's well known throughout the K-Pop community that maknae's (the youngest member of the group) are thought to be submissive and obedient to their elders but it's become more and more common for younger idols to stray away from that definition.

The older generation of K-Pop told stories of maknae's being forced to fall behind everyone in their group and do whatever they were told no matter how ridiculous. But now we're in a completely different era where the youngest don't want to be treated as such any more.

Groups like Teen Top, Super Junior and TVXQ have talked about the youngest members of their groups being bold and outspoken towards the elder members.

TVXQ's Changmin is known as K-Pop's first "evil maknae"

It's no secret that Super Junior's Kyuhyun is audacious towards the older members both on and off camera

Big Bang's Seungri, who had a hard time adjusting to life as a maknae, is known for his sharp tongue

Although many fans may take this type of behavior lightly, younger idols have also gotten a lot of negative criticism from the general public for not being absolutely polite all of the time. It seems as though their fierce personalities clash with their given roles in their group.

It's all in great fun, of course. No maknae would really maliciously belittle and harass their other members and actually live to tell about it.
