K-Pop Weekly Top 3: Taeyang's 'Eyes, Nose, Lips' Plagarism Controversy, Jewelry Disbands, Swedish Boy Band Copies EXO's 'Growl' Choreography

Another busy week in the world of K-pop! Check out the top three stories for the first week of January.

Amateur American Singer Derrick Bullock Copies "Eyes, Nose, Lips"

Fans of Big Bang's Taeyang discovered that Derrick Bullock had produced "Change Me," a song with similar instrumental music to Taeyang's "Eyes, Nose Lips."

The song was uploaded to both iTunes and YouTube several weeks after the release of Taeyang's song, with the claim that Derrick Bullock had written the song entirely on his own.

Bullock originally claimed that Taeyang stole his song, which he allegedly wrote four years ago, but has since revoked this claim. YG Entertainment has taken legal action against Bullock.

Jewelry Formally Disbands

After fourteen years, Jewelry's company, Star Empire, announced that the four-member girl group would be officially disbanded. While some of the member's contracts with Star Empire expired, other current members of Jewelry will stay under the entertainment label for the foreseeable future.

The girl group had gone through a variety of members throughout its lifetime, and had seen its ups-and-downs of successes. Jewelry was responsible for launching the solo careers of several artists.

EXO's "Growl" Dance Imitated By Swedish Boy Band

A Swedish boy band, The Fooo Conspiracy, was called out by EXO fans for using a dance similar to the dance for EXO's "Growl." The Fooo Conspiracy released a dance tutorial for the song, "All Over the World," where it appeared they were teaching the dance as original to their song.

The Fooo Conspiracy later said that EXO is their dancing role model.
