Bobby Kim May Be Charged With Criminal Offense, Korean Air Forced To Pay Fine For Violating Law

It was reported that Korean Air will be paying a fine for issuing the singer, Bobby Kim, with the wrong flight ticket.  On January 7, Bobby Kim was flying from Incheon to San Francisco.  He was supposed to fly in business class, but he was given a seat in economy, where he allegedly got intoxicated and sexually harassed a female flight attendant.

A representative from Korean Air said the mistake was made because there was another man with the same name.  Bobby Kim realized he was given the wrong seat and asked to be moved, and he was denied.  However, witnesses reportedly said that when another woman had trouble finding a seat, she was moved to business class.

After six glasses of wine was served by the attendants, Bobby Kim allegedly disturbed surrounding passengers and harassed a stewardess.  Consequently, he was investigated by the police in the United States and may be charged with criminal offense for his behavior on the plane.

Bobby Kim and his agency apologized for his actions, although the singer does not clearly remember the incident.

A representative of Bobby Kim said that nothing has been confirmed yet.  He or she stated, "One the day of the incident, Bobby Kim was investigated in the United States.  He plans to return to Korea as soon as the current situation is taken care of, but we still don't know if there will be any further investigation."  It was also added, "An investigation in Korea has not been officially requested.  However, if Bobby Kim has to be investigated by the police, he will take part in good faith."

Meanwhile, Korean Air could face up to 10,000,000 won (equivalent to over 9,000 dollars) in fines for seating the passengers incorrectly.  Korean Air violated the aviation security law by failing to verify the identities of their passengers.  They have recently been gaining a bad reputation since the "nut incident."
