Idols Help Increase 'K-Pop Syndrome' Through Dramas and Music Programs

Broadcast companies are all smiles due to the increasing 'K-Pop syndrome'.

Many broadcast and cable companies have been receiving a positive impact from the 'K-Pop syndrome'.

KBS-MBC-SBS programs such as "Music Bank", "Music Core" and "Inkigayo" have been ranked the highest in overseas exports.

Shows or music programs that feature top artists such as Girls' Generation and 2PM can be sold up to $100,000 per episode to Japan.

A Korea contents official commented, "Idols have become the focus on many levels due to the 'K-Pop syndrome'. Programs and dramas are all sending love calls to K-Pop idol members because they know then that show or program will do extremely well, especially if the idol is a top star."

The 'K-Pop syndrome' has overcome even the language barrier.

Shows that include idol members seem to do much better overseas then show that do not include idol members such as "Infinite Challenge" or "1 Night 2 Days."

Dramas with idols as lead roles such as the KBS drama "Love Rain" with Girls' Generation's Yoona and SBS drama "To the Beautiful You" with f(x)'s Sulli and SHINee's Minho have been gaining much attention in Japan.

Officials say that it is only a matter of time before these programs will spread out further than to just Japan and go on to other parts of Asia.
