Twitter New Feature 'While You Were Away' Allows Users To Find Their Best Tweets As The New Update Will Be Available On The iOS!

Twitter has revealed its latest feature that allows users to uncover past tweets.

Twitter officially introduces "while you were away", and Mashable, com reports that the new feature allows users to recap tweets that you may have missed while not using the app.

According tor reports form Engadget.com,"While You Were Away" feature displays a chronological list of the newest tweet, you missed since you last used the app. The tweets users see would be based on their habits and interests. A Twitter user with more breaks between Twitter session will see the "While You Were Away" pop up more often as compared to a user spending a lot time on Twitter.

It was first announced back on November 2014, "while you were away" will enable to improve Twitter's timeline without destroying the real-time response of many users live.

According to Engadget.com, "while you were away" will be available for Twitter users on iOS starting today, while the Android version will announce soon.

Twitter aims to bring up the top tweets that would have otherwise been lost among the numerous new posts. The feature is not unlike Facebook's algorithm driven news feeds that curates posts based on user preference, however, Twitter Vice President, Kevin Weil, denied the comparison.

"Twitter feed will continue to focus more on real-time experiences, while Facebook's generally ignores chronology," Weil told the New York Times.

The change will have less of an effect for power users as you might expect, according to Twitter's announcement. The more time you spend away from the app, the more tweets the new feature will show.

The company's blogspot stated that "If you check in on Twitter now and then for a quick snapshot of what's happening, you'll see this recap more often; if you spend a lot of time on Twitter already, you'll see it less."
