Oscar Pistorius' Version Of Reeva Steenkamp's Murder 'Conceivably Be True?' Athlete's Family Still Dealing With More Than Decade Old Scandal

A book author has stood behind Oscar Pistorius' version of the events regarding Reeva Steenkamp's murder, as the "Blade Runner's" family is still dealing with a scandal that has run for a decade now.

In a report, John Carlin, the author of "Chase Your Shadow: The Trials of Oscar Pistorius," said that it a lot of research for him to consider that Oscar Pistorius could possibly be telling the truth regarding the murder of Reeva Steenkamp.

The author started embarking on the book with the biased notion that the Paralympian was guilty as he believed that "obviously he intentionally killed her, obviously he's a monster."

"It was only when I decided to embark on the book about a month later that I thought: 'Listen, mate, just clear you mind here and start as honestly as you possibly can,'" she said. "And then, when I started to find out more about it and hear things from people who knew him, I began to open my mind to the possibility that this, what seemed to me, utterly ludicrous, insane notion that he thought it was an intruder could conceivably be true."

Last month, the judge in the Oscar Pistorius murder case had granted the appeal of the prosecutors to hear again the culpable homicide verdict, which effectively gave the "Blade Runner" five years instead of the 15 years the lawyers are asking.

Oscar Pistorius is presently detained at the Kgosi Mampuru II maximum security prison.

Meanwhile, aside from the continuing murder trial saga, Oscar Pistorius and his family are also dealing with a decades-old scandal which hasn't been resolved until now.

"Hendrik Pistorius & Co, the company founded by Pistorius' grandfather Hendrik, has been charged by the Competition Commission for allegedly fixing prices in the agricultural industry since 1995," the report said.
