EXO Wins Daesang Award And Triple Crown At 24th Seoul Music Awards

Idol group EXO took home the Daesang Award at the 24th Seoul Music Awards on the 22nd.

"We were fortunate enough to receive this award last year and we are so thankful. We would like to thank our president Lee Soo Man, our SMTOWN family, and all our fans. In order to return the favor, we are currently preparing for our concert and album so please continue anticipating and supporting our music," EXO stated during their acceptance speech.

In addition to their Daesang, EXO also took home the Bonsang and IQiyi Popularity awards, earning them the triple crown. The iQiyi award is a popularity award determined by Chinese fans of their favorite Korean artist/s.

The title for best record of the year went to idol group BEAST. "We would like to thank the members who sang with so much effort promoting this track and for our fans who supported us. We will work hard to become the charismatic BEAST all our fans are waiting for," expressed members of BEAST in their acceptance speech.  

The award for Digital Single of the Year went to the song "Some," performed by Soyou and Junggigo. Soyou expressed many thanks for the love the song received during her respective speech.

Other notable wins were Got7, Eddy Kim, and Red Velvet for Rookie of the Year, San-E and Raina for Hip Hop Award, Lyn for the OST Award, K. Will for the R&B Ballad Award, and Hyuna for the Dance Performance Award. The Bonsang Award went to Vixx, Girl's Day, B1A4, AOA, EXO, A-Pink, Bulletproof Boys, Infinite, SISTAR, BEAST, TTS, and Super Junior.


The High1 Award was presented to Shinee's Taemin and the Hallyu Special Award was presented to Infinite.
