K-Pop Crossover: Songwriter Bobby Brackins Mentions 2NE1's CL Working With Florence And The Machine In Recent Interview

As 2NE1's Lee "CL" Chaerin prepares for her solo American debut, one band she could collaborating with is Florence and the Machine.

Rapper-songwriter Bobby Brackins spoke to Noisey about his recent collaborations, including nearly getting a chance to work with CL and Florence and the Machine.

"I'm friends with this girl CL now, she's like the biggest artist in Korea," said Brackins.

"She hit me up to go work on some songs with Florence and the Machine! I couldn't do it because it was the night before we were flying out to New York but that would have been crazy to work with Florence."

In December, Brackins uploaded a photo with CL inside a recording studio. Many are expecting this photo to indicate that Brackins has contributed to CL's preparations for her solo release.

According to Koreaboo, CL has been in the United States since Jan. 13 and will remain there to work on her debut album until early February. Reportedly, her record label YG Entertainment has set up their own headquarters in the country in order to facilitate the process.

Earlier in the month, CL uploaded two photos on Instagram of what appears to be a video shoot, causing many fans to speculate that music video filming has already begun for a single.

"I want to represent Asian women," said CL to Billboard last year.

"I want to break that typical Asian female stereotype. There's this standard where they're all calm. I want to break that. I want to tell the world that there are some badass Asian female girls."

In addition to Brackins, CL is also rumored to be working with Sean Garrett, Diplo, Skrillex among others. Her debut will be overseen by talent manager Scooter Braun, known for working with Psy, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
