Mike Huckabee Says Jay Z Exploits Beyoncé As A Sex Object, Michelle Williams Calls His Comments 'Very, Very, Low' [PHOTO]

Mike Huckabee - the former governor of Arkansas and current Presidential hopeful - has recently been the receiving end of much criticism after sharing his thoughts on Beyoncé and Jay Z in his latest novel "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy."

According to E Online, Huckabee called rapper Jay Z a "pimp" for "exploiting his wife as a sex object." He also said of Beyoncé, "She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She's a terrific dancer... She just doesn't need to lower herself to this crude exploitation to be a megastar."

Obviously, many fans of the superstar couple disagree. On a recent showing of "The View" with Huckabee, co-host Rosie O' Donnell declared, "You can't mess with the Queen Bee." Former Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams was also co-hosting, and came to Beyoncé's rescue.

According to the Daily Mail, she stated, "As someone who has definitely come up in a group with her, has seen her hard work and who she is, I just feel like that album and those songs, it was that one moment where she decided to probably do some songs she has always wanted to do to shed that 'I'm a good girl' [image]."

She told Huckabee, "She had some freedom and she owned it and she took it. I was definitely offended - I'm not the Carter spokesperson - but to hear some of those comments that you said, I thought were very, very low."

Nonetheless, Huckabee stands by his opinions, and thinks that Beyoncé should tone her sexy side down in order to become a better role model. He said, "Because she's such a role model for so many young women ... it was a simple illustration. Half a page in a 270-page book, and I'm thinking, my gosh, that's all I've heard about this week."

He continued, "A lot of what people are reacting to are the headlines and the stories that the reporters wrote, not what I actually said in the book. I've said to people, read it and if you're still offended, so be it."
