Emma Watson On Feminism: 'I've Had My Breath Taken Away' As 'Harry Potter' Actress Shares Positive Feedback About UN's #HeForShe Campaign

Emma Watson just gave another moving speech about feminism at the Davos World Economic Forum, encouraging world leaders, governments and people all over the world in support of gender equality.

The New York Magazine reported that Emma Watson shares an update on the #HeForShe campaign of  theUN for gender equality at the Davos World Economic Forum, where the Harry Potter actress said that she's overwhelmed by the positive feedback of people regarding the campaign since it was launched last year.

"I've had my breath taken away when a fan told me that since watching my speech she has stopped herself being beaten up by her father," the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador said during her speech at the said summit.

According to the Independent, the actress had received feedback from men who supports the said campaign and those who wants to see their daughters experience a world where women are equal to men in political and economic aspects.

"There is a greater understanding than ever that women need to be equal participants in our homes, in our societies, in our governments, and in our workplaces," she added.

Last year, Emma Watson clarified that feminism is not just about women as men should take part on the said issue too.

"For the record, feminism by definition is: The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes."

The feminism campaign gained support from different people including those in the entertainment world. The Independent wrote on its publication that Eddie Radmayne, Douglas Booth and Tom Hiddleston are just a few who promote the gender equality campaign.

The #HeForShe campaign is a solidarity movement for gender equality that aims to empower men and women all over the world to address issues of gender equality.
