Yuri Promises Girls' Generation Will Make An 8-Member Comeback In 2015

The Girls will be back in 2015, promises Girls' Generation member Yuri.

Yuri, one of the eight members of SM Entertainment's most popular female idol group, revealed that Girls' Generation is currently working on an album. This will be the group's first album since the release of "Mr.Mr" in February of last year, as well as the first album since the departure of former member Jessica.

According to E News World, Yuri attended the press conference for an upcoming MBC show, Animals, on January 22, where she mentioned the upcoming album in passing.

"We've been slowly preparing for SNSD's album," Yuri commented. "We've been working hard so that we can definitely show our mature selves within this year."

The announcement came eleven months since the release of Girls' Generation's "Mr. Mr."

Girls' Generation debuted in 2007. The girl group became one of South Korea's most popular musical acts after the success of their 2009 song, "Gee." Girls' Generation has had numerous popular songs in South Korea since 2009, and a comeback is highly anticipated.

There are also rumors that a Girls' Generation member will make a solo debut in 2015, following in the footsteps of SHINee, Super Junior, and Super Junior-M members who have made successful solo debuts.

During the press conference, Yuri also spoke about Animals. "Animals are lovely beings that closely exist around us so I think the viewers will keep watching the show as they flip through the channels. I think our program is charming in that way. I hope many people will watch."

Animals will star many other popular variety stars including Don Spike, M.IV's Kangnam Super Junior's Eunhyuk, g.o.d's Park Jun Hyung, Jang Don Min, Kwak Dong Yoon, Yoon Do Hyun, Kim Jun Hyun, and Seo Jang Hoon.
