JYJ Continue To Rank High On Japan’s Oricon Chart With New Single 'Wake Me Tonight'

Group JYJ has continued to stay at the number two spot on the Oricon chart for four days in a row.

On January 25th, Japan’s music site Oricon revealed that JYJ’s first Japanese single, Wake Me Tonight, which was released on January 21st, was still at the number two spot after four days.

This single ranked second on the Oricon daily chart on the day of its release and topped the HMV 24 Hours chart.

This is the first time JYJ has released a single in Japan as well.

Last year, JYJ’s Korean album, Just Us, topped the Japan Tower Records chart and second on the Oricon weekly chart, without any official promotions in Japan.

Even without any large-scale promotions, they have been showing great rankings on the music charts, according to reports.

This EP is JYJ’s first step into the Japanese music industry as a three member group. The group joined hands with one of Japan’s biggest agencies, K-Dash.

JYJ recently ended their legal battle with their previous Japan agency, AVEX.

Last year, JYJ held a Japan dome tour in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka and met with 240,000 fans during the two month tour.
