SHINee's Jonghyun Talks About His Childhood and Hobbies With Dazed & Confused

SHINee's Jonghyun starred in a hypnotizing pictorial for the February issue of Dazed & Confused. The idol wore apparel with strong, graphic patterns and posed inside a large loft filled with artistic instruments and furniture.

During the interview portion of the photoshoot, Jonghyun revealed candid details about his childhood and hobbies. He explained that he was part of a band called Zion when he was younger. "When I was in my second year of high school, I vaguely wanted to join the band department because it appeared cool," he said. "But when I was in my first year...only the bass position was left. Even though I started out that way, if I hadn't been interested, I wouldn't have been able to continue. Bass is a very charismatic musical instrument. Although it's not fancy, it has a position where it extends a large amount of influence on music. Without the bass, you'll know how uninteresting music can become."

He also admitted that he loves animated films. "My sense of sight and hearing are sensitive while my sense of touch is the dullest," he stated. "I really like watching movies, especially animation. Because it is easy and it kindly deals with rewarding the good and punishing the evil such, so that it's comfortable for kids to watch. I think...the good should thrive and the bad should perish. Even if realistically that cannot happen, I really like that in animations, it protects one's own innocence and ideals. Although you may ask 'What does an adult like so much about such a thing?', I don't feel embarrassed."

When the magazine asked Jonghyun to disclose a New Year resolution, he simply said that he was going to try and go on vacation in 2015.
